Epidemiology: the study of a disease in a population, over a period of time. Purpose: understand the patterns, causes and distribution
Incidence: Number of new cases in a given year. May be limited to specific populations
Demography: Incidence by sex, age and geography
Mortality: Number of death due to cancer in a given year
