Technology assumes an important role in our society, one which will expand even more in the future. This paper will be introduce how to use of ICT technology in 30 – 45 minutes with 8 students studying in K3. Moreover, I will use the theme of “The King with a new clothe” for children to use ICT technology in the design process. After that, I would analyze the art activity good and bad qualities and which can improve the place in this activity.
Motivation: Firstly, the teacher take out the smart phone to tell children the email just received from Ta Ta country. In this way, use the computer to open the email of the animation in the projector show to the children. The content of the letter is: In the Ta Ta country, this King has to organize a birthday event after ten days, but the king was worried about what to wear clothes. Consequently, the King wants to invite children to help him to design clothes for the birthday party.
Design the clothes ： The teacher invited two young children as a group and used the Tablet computer to connect to the Internet and find a pictures of King's clothes design. Teachers can provide children to various types of search engines, such as YAHOO, GOOGLE. Moreover, can provide some of words of search like: King’s new clothe or Disney. During the search period, to distribute digital drawing board. And invite children to have 10 minutes of time to design clothes on the drawing board. After the completion of the design of the king's new clothes, the teacher gives a children's digital camera with children so that each group of children can take a photo with their own works with each other. And then it is free for them to invite each group of young children to use the projector to work on the whiteboard to share ideas. Teachers need to focus on children and ask about the design of the color application. Indeed, the teacher will be appreciation for their own art work and clapping to encourage children to promote class atmosphere. Finally, the teacher said that the design has been sent to the king reference and appreciation of children's imagination and creativity to the end of the activity.
Overview: Good quality
Some publications say that computers have no place in the early childhood classroom because they pose serious hazards- physical, emotional, intellectual and development to children (Cordes & Miller, 2000). When the teacher can correctly use the ICT method will be able to play the ability of young children. On this activity use of art in the curriculum was to help all children development emotionally (Dewey, 1934). On the other hand, ICT also have many advantages in the activities. For instance, at the beginning of the activity teacher use the smart phone ringtone to let children to pay attention. Moreover, the teacher can use the projector to magnifies the picture so that the child can watch the content. In addition, the teacher can use educational software to design a animation for children(Scratch). The use of interesting animation and sound effects will attract children's interest and investment. In the 21st century, the growing importance of technology in our society has made it essential for children to become technologically literate. In this activity, children can be use of tablet computer for free to create their own works while they can use the App function to play their own creativity. As a small group can improve children 's communication and cooperation ability. Because two people share a tablet computer must be discussed to allow children to accept more control as they become more competent (Winsler, 1994). A best activity can let children to followed by willing to participate ， self-confidence and creativity(Haugland &Wright, 1997). According to Dewey, children learn through experience. Therefore, we use the life skills so that children can make a deeper impression on the application of the camera, that was strengthened with Dewey stressed the life experience (Dewey, 1997/1938, P.25).
Suggestion and bad quaility
Today every family always has different technology products, so it is for children to contact and increase with technology products. Hong Kong Pre-primary Education Curriculum Guide (EDB, 2006) said that young children in a safe, receptive and full of sensory stimulation of learning environment. The development of children's brain has a good impact, but also conducive to lifelong learning as early childhood educators and parents have to reflect on how to use technology products to help children learn, and not too much addiction to children. In fact, children are very curious when use of ICT tools, because of ICT tools simple control and instant response to the game allows children to indulge. It is easy to make excessive use of children too much time to lead. We should control time to pay attention on it.
Particularly young children often have experience using technology before they attend school. However, if there is no purpose of study then the activity will not have any use. On the contrary, children will be easy to addicted to the network. The most important is that, technology is only a secondary function of teaching, the key of how to design the activity and teaching. So as a professional teacher, should show their teaching beliefs, professional knowledge and attitudes in multimedia teaching design, in order to play its greatest role.
