What is green technology?
The term "technology" refers to the application of knowledge for practical purposes. The field of "green technology" encompasses a continuously evolving group of methods and materials, from techniques for generating energy to non-toxic cleaning products. The present expectation is that this field will bring innovation and changes in daily life of similar magnitude to the "information technology" explosion over the last two decades. In these early stages, it is impossible to predict what "green technology" may eventually encompass.
What is LCA?
LCA is a method in which the energy and raw material consumption, different types of emissions and other important factors related to a specific product are being measured, analyzed and summoned over the products entire life cycle from an environmental point of view.
Life-Cycle Analysis attempts to measure the “cradle to grave” impact on the ecosystem.
LCAs started in the early 1970s, initially to investigate the energy requirements for different processes.
What is 3Rs?
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
Reduce means using fewer resources in the first place. This is the most effective of the three R's and the place to begin.
Reuse despite efforts to reduce the amount of waste generated, consumers and businesses still create substantial waste. Much of this waste can immediately be reused to minimize the strain on the environment and municipal waste management.
Recycle: when waste is eventually discarded, segregating items for recycling from other waste is important.
Statement of the problem: Nowadays, with the development of the technology, old CD disks are not used anymore. But it’s a waste to throw them away, so we are finding the ways to deal with the problem.
So we try to think how can we handle all these CD but not waste it. Because summer is coming and the weather in Nanchang these days is getting higher and higher. And the number of our projects is increasing rapidly, we need to stay with our computer much longer than before. So we decide to make an electrical fan.
So we look through it from the internet. Then we find some useful websites that teach us the processes.
III- Design and Develop

Step 1. First, we cut off one head of the USB wire which doesn’t connect to the computer. Strip off the insulating cement, locate the red and the black wires and discard the rest.
Step 2. Twist the red (+) wire and black (-) wire together with the corresponding wires on the motor and tape each wire.
Step 3. Cut the CD to the shape like the flabellum, and use the lighter to heat the center of the CD, then cooling it till it gets hard.
Step 4. Put the rubber plug into the motor’s rotation shaft, and locate the other head to the hole in the CD.
Step 5. Use the fiber container as the bracket of the electric fan and connect both the flabellum and the foundation.
Step 6. Decorate the fan using the crayons or the colored tape.
Finishing making the electric fan, we connect the USB cable to the computer in order to examine if it can work as we thought before.
Fitting the fan and the computer together, we immediately found that the power of the fan was very weak, and it rotated continue from time to time. When we took it off from the computer, we check out the connection, if we compact the tape more tight, the fan can work normally.
The fan we made is not very proper to use in the daily life. On one hand, it didn’t work very well and continued from time to time. On the other hand, it didn’t have any safety precautions. So when we open it, if we don’t be careful of the fan, it might cut up your finger when you touch it careless.
Absorbing plenty of the experience, we redesign a new fan. We use a fewer powered motor that doesn’t have some many power. So it won’t be dangerous, and we strengthen the connection between the USB cable and
motor, this makes the fan will keep working. And we also decorate the fan makes it won’t be so ugly.y encompass.
