I - Brief
Biomass is organic matter derived from living, or recently living organisms. Biomass can be used as a source of energy and it most often refers to plants or plant-based materials which are not used for food or feed, and are specifically called lignocellulosic biomass. As an energy source, biomass can either be used directly via combustion to produce heat, or indirectly after converting it to various forms of biofuel. Conversion of biomass to biofuel can be achieved by different methods which are broadly classified into: thermal, chemical, and biochemical methods.It directly or indirectly from the photosynthesis of green plants, can be converted into conventional solid, liquid and gas fuels, inexhaustible,an inexhaustible, is a kind of renewable energy, and the only a renewable carbon source.Biomass energy has many advantages:renewable,less pollution and wide distribution, the total amount is very rich.Biomass energy in plants, animals, and microorganisms can grow organic material, such as it is transformed by solar energy. All except fossil fuels derived from plants and animals in the organic energy material all belong to biomass energy, usually include wood, and forest waste, agricultural waste, aquatic plants, oil plants, urban and industrial organic waste, animal waste, etc.The biomass energy is rich on the earth, and it is a harmless energy.There are 173 billion tons of material produced by photosynthesis on the earth every year, which contain energy equivalent to the total energy consumption of the world's 10-20 times, but the utilization rate of less than 3%. World oil crisis broke out, Denmark began to actively develop clean renewable energy, vigorously promote the straw biomass power generation, has set up 15 large direct combustion biomass power plant, the annual consumption of about 1.5 million tons of agriculture and forestry waste, provide 5% of the nation's electricity supply in Denmark. So far has more than 350 new biomass plants in the United States, mainly distributed in the pulp, paper products processing plants and other forest products processing plants, these plants are mostly located in the suburbs, provides about 66000 jobs.
Statement of the Problem:
We are going to design and construct a biomass energy model to show the process of power generation and how to in the application in the real life.
·No larger than one square meter and no heavier than five kilograms.
·Utilize maximum efficiency of the renewable energy through design.
·It should be strong, durable and finished to a high standard.
·It must be possible to manufacture the design in the classroom
·It is easy to let people to understand how the model works.
·It should be very beautiful and the principle of perfect show.
·Creates enough energy to light a light.
·It should be created the materials that are used,reused and recycle.
·Most of these should be hand-made by ourselves.
Our requirements:We will make biomass energy model.We try our best to let this model show the best effect to the audience and make it easy to understand.
Target audience:We design a biomass energy model.The target audience are farmers,because we have a factory,forest and grassland and free power.We can provide the free power service to farmers,they only need buy the initial energy . The development and utilization of biomass energy in Chinese countryside more significant. 80% of China's population lives in rural areas, such as straw and wood burning biomass energy in rural is the main fuel of life.

II - Research Solutions
When we saw the information about biomass, we had a question in our minds:” How can we make the model of the biomass energy by ourselves?” So after that, we came up with two different ideas.
·We can build a model that contains a large forest nearby a huge plain. There are also many animals live in there. The factory there collecting the waste of the animals and transform them to the energy we could use in the daily life such as: electricity or natural gas. The trees in the forest and the grass will absorb the carbon dioxide which is made by the animals, the animals waste can also act like the fertilizer for the plants.
·There is another idea. The main part of the model is center of the city. We build a factory which is not very far from the city. The waste water and the rubbish of the city will be collected to the factory. So these wastes would be used more efficiently instead of just throwing it away and help the city save lots of fossil fuels too.

III – Design and Develop
Drawing with dimensions ： Our topic is biomass energy so we decided to show it in two different land form to make it clearly.Right half of the model is about forest and the other half is about grassland.And the middle place is industrial area including the river.
Materials with costing
First,we used the bricks to build the wall of the factory.
We planed to build higher wall of the building,and used super glue to one after another.
We used the bricks that we have to build the factory as high as we can.It is 5 floor high.
We tried hard to let the building stronger and decorate it by using moss.
According to the proportion of wood with scissors and super glue to stick them together.
We used rule to set the wooden sticks straight and used super glue to cling them.
Then we used another two wooden sticks to fix the big one.
We made another symmetrical one and use other wooden sticks to cling them and corrugated paper to decorate them.
We put the big roof on the wall and the factory is formed like that
We made a rail by using wooden sticks.
We began to use double-sided adhesive their turf to the wood and used the clay to stick one side of the river.
Then we used small stones on the clay.
We fixed the small stones on the one side of river and do it again on the another side.
Resin is soured between the two sides of river ,then pour the small stones in there and the final river was built.
We added a fence beside the factory.
We used spray paint to the roof and bottom in order to make it beautiful.
A person on the fence is to decorate our factory and next to the factory,it has a clay that is surrounded by bricks.
We started to use clay to stick the trees.
And we built a perfect model.
We were going to design a automatic model.And we used Generators, alcohol lamp, small bulbs and some glass parts designed a generator by burning alcohol.
We used copper wire to connect with small bulb, and then it was lighted.
These are our work hard members,they spend much time to focus on this project,and work very very late in the school in order to get higher mark.
IV-Test and Evaluate Solution:
As you create the automatic model,you should perform tests to make sure that the model is meeting the needs of the given problem. If your solution does not work, you may need to repeat the previous steps of the Design Process, until you find a functional design. In the space below, document the type of tests you conducted and the results.
Number of times
Circuit connection is wrong, cause a short-circuit.
We correct the circuit and circuit are connected correctly.
Alcohol‘s wick touch the water, causing the alcohol lamp can’t burn.
We decided to change alcohol’s wick and burn it.
The alcohol is less,so the fire is not big enough
We went to buy some alcohol and add the alcohol.
The light is lighted need to connect the right circuit,replace alcohol’s another wick and add more alcohol.
After improving those, the light starts to be lighted.
After improving the all of above failure ,the circuit are connected correctly, change alcohol’s wick,add the alcohol and the light start to be lighted.We know we should have more experience,we will be successful.Our greatest weakness lies in giving up.The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.
