About this project, we decided to make a fake violin, which has true appearance of violin and fake strings outside. Inside, there are true strings. We are going to convert wind power into electricity, and then the electricity can make something to rotate. When something is rotating, it will hit the strings, let the strings shake, so that we can hear the sound of violin.
At the first time, we think we should do something different, so we choose to connect the electricity with music. After this we began to search how to convert wind energy into electricity. We found that the only way is make a small generator. We search how to make a dynamo more easily, and many kinds of different materials that we can collect easy, then we use our own idea to let the wind energy be useful connect it with the dynamo.
We also searched something from internet to understand the theory of wind driven generator. we should collect the wind energy and let the wind energy convert into electric energy. Because we want to produce the electric energy without the battery. Step1, we should find some copper wires, plastic pipe, one small plastic bottle, insulator and one magnet which has two poles. Step2, put one magnet into the plastic bottle and then put plastic pipe across the plastic bottle. Step3, twining the copper wires on the plastic pipe tightly. Step4, use two electric wires link the plastic pipe and something which can hit the strings. Let the magnet which in the plastic pipe link the little fan and put some copper wire cover the plastic pipe. Then, let the little fan rotate. Though this, we can let the wind energy convert into the electric energy easily. The reason why this way can make the electric energy is because of the electromagnetism induction phenomenon. It means when a conductor of a closed electric circuit cutting the magnetic induction lines in the magnetic field, then the conductor can produce current.
The second most important part of our project is ‘make something move, so that strings can be vibrated.’ It seems like the most difficult part of our project, but we still found way how to do it. We only need to find a small motor. First, put something which hit the strings and then, we should connect the electric wires with the motor, so that the electricity which was produced by generator can let the motor rotate. When the motor rotating, something can move with the motor and hit the strings, makes the sound of the violin.
This is the first time for us to make such a big creative thing. All of us were nervous, so we searched the information carefully and spent us a lot time. We will try our best to do it no matter how difficult it is.
