【 Design 】
As far as we concern, the sunlight’s direction can be changed due to reflection. In that case, we plan to use mirrors or something can reflect sunlight to concentrate the solar energy at a certain point so that it can heat foods. Meanwhile, we will put aluminum foil around the container since this kind of material has strong thermal insulation that it can maintain the temperature in the container. Besides, we decided to paint the container which used to hold foods black as this sort of color can absorb all kinds of colors and doesn’t reflect them, so black can have more heat than other colors when they are in the same situation. Lastly, the absorber plate must be supported above the box bottom to prevent heat loss.

【 Steps About How to Build it 】
Paste aluminum foil inside the box closely so that it can keep the temperature
Paint the surface of box black to absorb more heat
Put wood bricks in the box to support the absorber plate in order to reduce
the loss of heat.
Put the window which made of glass over the top of the box.
Use Plastic sheet to stabilize the window
Finally, glue the mirror reflector to back of box.
【 Lifecycle 】
The wasted glass can be sent to the furnace factory then melt it. After that, the liquid after melting can be used to remake glass.
Since aluminum foil is made of aluminum, so the wasted aluminum can be burnt and be reused.
It can be sent to the reclamation depot after it was used.
Most of the plastic is a kind of disposable material. Plastic can be buried or be burned after using it. However, these ways are not the best choice for it will pollute the environment in a way.
These woods can be cut for different usages.
Part 4 【 Test 】
Start from: 22.4 Celsius degree, measured temperature every 10 minutes.

Part 5 【 Evaluate 】
The problem we met is how to support the mirror, since the weight of the mirror was heavy and the height of the box was not too high.
Using the paper box to support it.
The paper box is not hard enough, it cannot provide enough power to support it. The paper box had the structure of a triangle.
Using the bricks to support it.
The bricks we got from other’s projects are hard and heavy enough, but for the reason that the bricks were too small, it was hard to form them and the weight of it has exceeded the standard given.
Using the pipe to support it.
Since we only used 1 pipe to support the mirror, it is not strong enough
Using the pipe model to support it.
The pipes were cut into pieces, and then we installed the model by the tapes. The model imitated the structure of the triangle. The angle between mirror and box is approximately 90 degree. (Success)
【 Part 3 】
Design 2: Umbrella solar cooker
【 Design 】
According to the first model, we found that the sunlight will concentrate at a certain point if we make the solar cooker looks like a half-circle, which means it will produce more solar energy to the pot. In that case, we pasted the aluminum foil tape on the inside surface of umbrella instead of the foil since the former is smoother and thicker than the latter one, so the reflection will be stronger due to its properties. The umbrella played a role as the one which finalized the design. Also, we painted the surface of the bowl with black to enhance the ability of absorbing heat. By the way, we drew a big logo of cola to show our theme.

【 Steps 】
Prepare the materials we need (materials have to be mentioned before).
Cut the zip-top cans into 2 pieces, and then cut off the logos of each.
Paste the logos outside the umbrella (for decorating).
Stick the aluminum foil stickers inside the umbrella.
Put the bowl which has been painted with black under the ribs. Those are the whole steps about how to make the umbrella solar cooker.
【 Life cycle: 】 Cardboard:
Cardboard is made of paper which is made from the trees, so it can be recycled by trash station and turn it into energy.
Tapes can be recycled and be sent to the factories to dispose them by cutting into partials. The plastic products can be made up of these particles.
The umbrella after used can be sent to the recycling factories to be recycled since, many parts of the umbrella are made of metals and the things which can be disposed to be used again.
The bowl which has been used can be collected and recycled to form new products.
Aluminum foil tape:
Since aluminum foil is made of aluminum, so the waste aluminum can be burnt and be reused.

Because the sun was not as strong as Sunday (we test it on Monday), and we test it on about 4 pm which the Sun almost goes down, so the temperature was not increasing very quickly.
We encountered a big problem is that we don’t know how to immobilize the bowl stably at the certain point.
Using Copper wires
We bought some Copper wires to twine umbrella handle to form a circle to support the bowl but we found that the Copper wires weren’t so strong to achieve it.
We used clips to clamp at umbrella handle to support the bowl but it can only sustain for a couple of minutes.
No matter what methods we used, we finally failed to support the bowl so the temperature of the water wasn’t so ideal.
