Today is September 23, 1952, My name is Richard Milhous Nixon I am addressing a television audience. I am being accused of allegations that I received illegal campaign funds, I would not attempt to take. I am very honest and have a decent character. I have been six years in politics as the California State Governor, I was chosen by a good man named Dwight Eisenhower as his running president in the Presidential election. Despite the fact that Americans may think I have no political experience, it is a respect for me to be picked as president. Some of the issues are Korean War, communism, and corruption. I have a strong opinion on addressing the issue of communism because I will be exposing democratic politician Alger Hiss. Today I am in Pomona, California I have gotten repulsive news that irritated me just before doing a "Checkers Speech.". I was handed a liberal east-coast newspaper that had published an article saying I had received upwards of $16,000 in donations for personal use. I am being blamed for taking bribes and illicit endowments while campaigning as Dwight Eisenhower's vice presidential candidate. I am one of the primary presidents who used TV to achieve specifically to the general population and demonstrates my honesty as a media setting, I am ideally this will be cleared. After all, yes some corporations offered my help but I have only received a gift, which was my little cocker spaniel which my daughter named Checkers. In which why wouldn't I accept this gift therefore I am a family man as well as everyone in America I didn't do anything incorrectly by keeping my companion my dog, Television in 1952 is what Americans are intrigued by nowadays and I had to deliver my political thoughts; It was as I was talking directly to any family in their home. The TV gave the American individuals a reasonable vision of me Nixon, rather than them simply listening to my voice on the radio as they can really observe me talking.
