I did the ecological footprint quiz tonight and I’ve got a bunch of things to think about.
When I was a young kid, I thought that the earth is huge and infinite in term of volume. The earth is such a big planet that it has infinite amount of water for us to use, and infinite land for us to live. But as days went by, I take the biology and geography classes. I started to realize that earth is delicate and easy to be hurt. It is just like a baby, and we humanity are like a devil. The world is developing so fast, our life is better and better, but at the same time, we are destroying the world gradually. We cut down the trees to produce paper, once use chopsticks, we dig big holes on the ground to find the ‘gold under the ground’----fossil fuels, we drain the lakes and rivers, we kill and capture animals, we pollute the air……
If we don’t realize the significance to protect the environment, not only the earth is turned to a garbage station, ourselves is put into danger. There are so many ways to protect the earth----the home of us, we can just start by doing little tiny things such as turn off the tap after we use it, don’t buy or use animal products, don’t use once use chopsticks. We can start by putting little efforts to it every, and the world is going to be a better place.
