Rodent Guard™ (RG)
Any of various mammals of the order Rodentia, such as a mouse, rat, squirrel, or beaver, characterized by large incisors adapted for gnawing or nibbling
Why rodents like to gnaw woods or hard objects?
Characterized by two continuous growing incisors (upper and lower jaws) which must be kept short by gnawing…
Rodents are serious pests in storage. Four (4) percent of stored rice and other grains according to world estimates are damaged by rodents.
Rodents have enlarged, chisel-shaped upper and lower front incisors that grow throughout.
SOURCES OF DAMAGE
Rodent damage to stored grains is due to direct feeding spillage, contamination and hoarding.
Rodents weighing more than 50g consume about 7% of their body weight per day while those weighing less than 50g consume 15%.
More grains are lost through spillage from nibbled sack and from contamination with hair, urine and feces.
Spilled and contaminated grains can still be recovered but an extra cost.
CONTROL OF RODENTS
Rodent guards are intended to keep mice, rats, and other small rodents from accessing the platforms through the legs of table used for storage such as in GrainSafe or other products.
The inverted funnel shape design constricts the pathway of the rodents thus preventing them from accessing the stored grains. Also, the smooth surface of the Rodent Guard prevents the rodents from grasping its sides.
Material is UV resistant suitable for outdoor use
UV Light Stabilizer
An additive masterbatch based on high molecular weight
Excellent thermal stabilizer for polyolefins
Rodent guard can be installed on any metal or wood platform with circular or square-shaped legs
(Square or Round Leg): 22-44cm
Rodent guard can be optionally cut in half if the platform’s leg perimeter is smaller along the lines at the back of the rodent guard
Rodent guard is included in the GrainSafe products or can be bought separately. Fastening materials are NOT included in the package

If the leg area is smaller, the rodent guard can be optionally cut in half to fit. Cut along the lines at the back of the rodent guard
Fold the rodent guard’s teeth upward against the sides of the leg to keep it from slipping. Fit the rodent guard on each leg
Make sure to overlap the sides at least one inch
Tie the teeth of the rodent guard using fasteners
The overlap at the bottom part of the rodent guard can be fastened using:
