b(4) Science and social ethics. Scientific decision making is a way of answering questions about the natural world. Students should be able to distinguish between scientific decision-making methods and ethical and social decisions that involve the application of scientific information
(H) organize, analyze, evaluate, make inferences, and predict trends from data; and
(I) communicate valid conclusions supported by the data through methods such as lab reports, labeled drawings, graphs, journals, summaries, oral reports, and technology-based reports.
Make decisions and understand how disabilities work. Analyze and communicate conclusions based off discussions and findings. Discuss ethical decisions based on what we scientifically know is a disability vs what we see in I AM SAM.
Gain deeper insight on what others might go through daily (both the people who care for disabled and the disabled)

Each day our review will be oral. We will discuss what we learned/watched the previous school day.
I will introduce the subject of disabilities by asking them general questions.
“What is your definition of disability?”
“Do yall know anyone with a disability/”
“How do you feel about them?”
“Do you think they get treated differently/”

These last two days will be in computer room
Students will have a choice of making a short presentation or writing a 2-page informative paper on a disability not discussed in class Both will include reflections on their view of disability.
Finish Projects or papers and turn in.
Each day a few minutes before class ends students will have time to reflect on what was learned in class. They may also take a journal home to complete their thoughts. End of day Reflection should be no longer than a page.
They will also turn in reflection on feelings towards the whole unit including 3 disabilities discussed and “I am Sam” movie.
