The Placement Process
SLSG MO – GIRLS The Placement Process (Ages 2003’s and younger)
The MO Girls have officially reached the last phase of this year's Placement Process, coined ID2017.
The Placement Process, by definition, is the annual process by which the club “realigns” its teams within and places
players from outside the club. The club feels strongly about and will continue using the philosophy of “like players
playing with like players”, regardless of age. Each year SLSG factors the following into the placement equation;
(a) players ability level (b) a player's birth year (c) a players grade in school and (d) geography.
As always, the movement of players has been a cooperative effort between full-time Staff, Individual Team Coaches, Club Trainers, and of course parents. Division Directors have observed, training sessions, games, and kick-a-rounds. After months of observation and evaluation, the staff feels confident we have found a healthy soccer environment for each player through the 2017 Placement Process..
SLSG realizes that the Placement Process can sometimes create tension within families, teams, and age groups. It is not the intention of the Club to continuously change the makeup of each individual team and possibly add stress to our member's lives. The Staff has been and will continue to be determined to place players in a smart place based upon their ability, but also within their birth year AND with players in their school grade. We felt this approach would be healthy for each player and provide soccer challenge as well as allow players to continue to build relationships.
We appreciate your trust in what we feel is the best way to provide structure for a player’s development and the process that each child can follow from year to year. We know that without the support of our members, the mission that SLSG lives by can never be realized. It is important that each family email their coach to confirm their roster spot by Tuesday, June 20th, by 5:00pm.
