Saturday, January 14 2017 4:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M (2 hours)
I sat down and decided to start researching ways I could carry out this big event. I looked up several formats and bracketing systems to try out. I also started looking at possible fundraising options and charities to give to such as, St. Judes, Charity water, and The RED foundation.
This was a good way for me to further my knowledge in the field I was working with. I got a much better understanding of how I was going to run the event. I also researched the possible charities to give to and I really wanted to pick one that meant something to me. The St Judes one stood out to me.
Me researching the possible formats for the tournament. I also looked at charities to give to.
Sunday, January 15 2017 3:00 P.M.-5:00 P.M. (2 hours)
I sat down and decided to start setting up the twitter account for the event to try and get out the word of the event so I could get more people to come. After that I started sketching some designs of the flyers I was going to start making for the event. I wanted them to look good so I took time to sketch it out.
This task was something that was much needed. It was one of those days where I just sat down and knocked it out. The flyer designs were a little bit hard to make because I am not very creative or artistic. That portion took a while because it takes me a while to get going on stuff like that.
Me setting up the event twitter. I also was working on the flyer designs.
Thursday, January 19, 2017 4:00 P.M.-5:00 P.M. (1 hour)
I went to Dick’s Sporting Goods and looked for mini goals I could use for the event. A lot of searching around was done until I found the ones I wanted.
It was nice to prepare even more and make sure I had one of the things I needed to get for the tournament. The goals are strong I realized after testing them by shooting on them.
Me after I got back from Dick’s Sporting Goods with the goals I needed.
Tuesday March 21
I completed my flyer for the tournament so I could give it to people so they know where and when the event is.
This task was something I needed to make the tournament official. It really helped me get more people to come.
This is the official flyer I made to make the event official.
Saturday March 29
I drove around to certain stores looking for equipment such as cones, jerseys and goals for the event.
This was a bit annoying as I had to drive to 3 different stores to finally find what I needed. I drove to Play It Again Sports, Dicks and finally Soccer USA where I found pretty much everything I needed.
The cones that I bought from Soccer USA. These helped set the boundaries during the event.
This was finally the event that I put all the planning into. The 3v3 soccer Tournament was finally here.
I was really happy with how the event turned out to be. All the planning and preparation that went into this was worth it in the end and we had a great turnout to the event.
The group picture we took with everyone that showed up. This was after one of the games so everyone was already sweaty.
