Our Goal is to raise $50,000 in Support of Kensington Hospice
The Kensington Hospice is a not-for-profit residential hospice in Toronto providing 24-hour care, comfort and relief to people with life-limiting illnesses. We focus on improving quality of life and getting the most out of each day in a warm, home-like setting. Kensington Hospice is run by 30 staff and 170 volunteers, who provide the care, attention & friendship during the final stage of life.
Hello, my name is Paul Meo.
I am embarking on this personal challenge, to bring public awareness to the wonderful support role, which Kensington staff & volunteers provide to all the residents who have chosen Kensington Hospice as the final stop in their life journey, amongst family & friends. I hope I have the same courage to complete our challenge, as the they demonstrate each day. Kensington Hospice operates on Government of Ontario funding for 30 staff only. The balance of their operation is funded from generous family & private donations, and the wonderful support of their 170 volunteers, such as my challenger partner and best friend, who is up next……..
Hello, my name is Diane Mammoliti, and Paul’s Bestie
I have been a volunteer at Kensington Hospice for two years now. While I help in all volunteering role, my true joy is serving the residents that reside at the hospice. My greatest desire for every weekly shift is to make a connection with residents and/or their families, my greatest reward is to bring a ray of sunshine and happiness into their lives, even for one time. I feel so very privileged and honored to share this journey with the residents at the hospice and I feel so lucky that our paths have crossed in this world, even if for a short time.
I have learned so much about myself, how precious life is and the undeniable courage and strength, that I witness every week. I have met the most wonderful people at the hospice, including the committed and loving staff, from all walks of life and I feel so blessed to have so many personal stories, triumphs and challenges shared with me. I cherish each and every resident I meet and the time spent together and I only hope that I have made a difference. Please join us in our Urban Challenge Weekend to raise awareness and money for this very, very special place, Kensington Hospice.
Thank you from the bottom of many hearts.
