Session two: Surrender-
Letting go - Painful Surrender. Lay all your fears & concerns down before the Lord, His plans are greater than are own. Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Surrender isn’t our first option when we are running from God. We try everything else before we Surrender, and it is usually out of sheer desperation. When we are running from God we are involved in “divine chase”.
Letting go of the things that hold us back is a sign of maturity. With Gods help we can step into the place where He has called us to.
God has you where He wants you. Moses was in the right place to see the burning bush. (vs 1)
Gods presence is revealed through the Fire (vs 3-4)
Jesus is calling you (Exodus 3:9-10)
When God calls, you do you say to Him, “Lord who am I”? or Tell Him “I am not enough?
What am I supposed to say? Do I have the right words for your people? God Provides & God Guides- “Tell them I Am sent you”
What if they don’t believe me? Are you willing to lay down what you have to move towards God?
What if I can’t do it? Surrender the things you fear the most. God wants us to lay down your fear, your identity and whatever is holding you back; God wants to resurrect you back to life.
Exodus 4:11-13 - I’m not the one!
Exodus 4:14-17- Choose someone else, I’m not good enough.
When we have Jesus we have it all and we can do all things through Him who gives us strength.
2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV) 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
“Play With Fire”
Fire- for our God is a consuming fire- Hebrews 12:29 (ESV)
Flame- A state of burning brightly
