5th Annual Glenn Miller Memorial Golf Outing
To Whom It May Concern:
I am pleased to announce that plans for the fifth annual Glenn Miller Memorial Golf Outing are underway! The event has been planned for Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Hankerd Hills Golf Course in Pleasant Lake, Michigan. Golfers will join in the fun and festivities to raise funds to benefit the education of Glenn Miller IV and Noah Miller.
Glenn Miller was a hands-on father that cherished spending time with his family. Glenn’s sons are involved in many sports, but Glenn had a particular passion for baseball. Glenn hoped that the talent of his boys would be recognized and attract the attention of college coaches, in turn affording them the opportunity to attend a university and play college –level baseball. Glenn was a strong role model and always encouraged his sons to do their best. He knew that with the state of the economy, and his income alone, he would not be able to cover the entire cost of college tuition for the boys. Although he planned on supporting them in any way he could, his plans for assisting with the financial burden of their education came to a tragic end on August 9, 2011. Within a couple miles from his home, Glenn’s vehicle was struck head-on by another vehicle that crossed the center line; killing him instantly.
With your support, Glenn’s dream of providing continuing education for his sons can still be fulfilled. Any contribution, big or small, will greatly impact the ability for the boys to continue their education, and hopefully fulfill their dad’s dream of them playing baseball in college. A monetary donation in the amount of $125 towards a hole sponsorship will benefit the Miller Memorial Fund and will be used towards Glenn and Noah’s future educational expenses.
Donations of gift certificates of any value or merchandise are also greatly appreciated and will be used for raffles and prizes for golfers participating in the event.
Glenn often shared a motto with his boys and the many different teams he coached – JUST DO WHAT YOU DO. He believed that no matter how talented you were at something, you should never brag about yourself. You should just do the best you can do, be a team player, and people would take notice.
Thank you in advance for any support you can offer.
