Step 1: Look at the photo you have chosen. Write why you are drawn to the photo along with your initial reaction to it.
The photo caught my attention, by the position the man was falling in.
Step 2: Write or identify what you literally see in the photo.
In The Falling Man photo I see a man falling from the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
Step 3: Place yourself in the scene. Describe the photo using sensory details.
In the picture he departs from the earth like an arrow. His left leg is bent at the knee, almost casually. His white shirt, or jacket, or frock, is billowing free of his black pants. His black high-tops are still on his feet. In the picture, he is frozen; in his life outside the frame, he drops and keeps dropping until he disappears
Step 4: Analyze the photo using the elements of photography such as lighting, angle, perspective, and so on. You may choose to do a little research on elements of photography to aid you on this step.
The photograph gives the impression that the man is falling straight down; however, a series of photographs taken of his fall showed him to be tumbling through the air.
