Year 9 Baseline Assessment
During the week beginning 19 September you will be sitting a GCSE Baseline Assessment. This will consist of three tests:
Paper 1 Non Calculator 90 minutes
Paper 2 Calculator 90 minutes
Paper 3 Calculator 90 minutes
The exam is a full GCSE paper, so teachers can assess your current GCSE grade accurately. You will find you know some of the topics on the exam already. Your mark will only be based on what you have already been taught. We will tell you your GCSE grade too, as a starting point.
You should revise everything you learnt in Year 8. Here is the topic list. You could use:
Mymaths online homeworks (and lessons if you are really stuck)
Mangahigh or SAM learning, or Kerboodle videos (the tab is called Invisipen)
A Maths Buster (can buy from CGP online), or GCSE or KS3 revision book that contains questions to answer (not just notes)
Start by ticking the topics you found difficult last year. Only revise those difficult topics.
