I had a speech at Myre Heart Lodge for the CHIPs event proposal.
I presented a proposal for my senior project to see if the lodge would help me host a CHIPs event.
I don’t know why this is so nerve wrecking. I've given speeches with no problem before. Maybe it's just because it's for my Senior Project.
Wednesday 16 Nov 2016
17:44-19:25 (break until 20:15)
1 hour 41 minutes
2hours 10 minutes.
I am sending emails to Jenny Reedy (red cross), River Ridge High School and Woodstock high School cadets to see how to go about talking to their Majors about my proposal for my project. Also I contacted my project facilitator to see if she has gotten a response from the Lodge on what the vote was.
The proposal email the River Ridge I believe will go well. Another thing is I had some computer difficulties which is why I had to take a break.
Saturday 10 Dec 2016
I was talking to the Master at Woodstock Lodge informing him of what CHIPs is which lead to me later speaking about what my project is and how they may be able to help me.
It was nice to see how the Master responded to what CHIPs is and how he came to me saying he would like to help in ay way possible and for me to keep in touch with him.
Sunday 11 Dec 2016
Project facilitator updates with Myre Heart Lodge. Possibly need to change the date depending on how things go with another event that's planned in Cherokee county at the time. We may wind up having to share a venue, date, and time.
I am overly stressed and worried right now.

Organizing info. and sending update emails to RHS and WHS
Wondering if my project is about to fall apart and if it is salvageable. What can I do with such little time left. I can't turn back now.
Wednesday 15 Dec 2016
Received a response at:
I am exchanging emails with Gunny Myrick of Woodstock High School . He asked exactly what was needed from him. I explained I needed 10 cadets, a way to get the cadets community service hours for the event, and a date I could meet with him to better go over exactly what I am doing and clear up any confusion.
I am excited he is contacting me and that things are getting back on track from where they previously were.
Thursday 16 Dec 2016
I replied to Gunny Myrick instructor at Woodstock High School to try to set up a date to meet with him.
Seems we are playing email tag and I still get wait to see this all come together. I have less stress but I still haven't heard from River Ridge High.

I am creating volunteer sheets, explanatory sheets of the project, making copies of forms, and preparing a folder
It is a very long process but well worth it.
Copying and printing is what took the longest amount of time.
Continuation of what I was doing before.
I felt tired.
Monday 2 January 2017
I have a meeting at Woodstock High School with Gunny Myrick. Going over details on what his cadets should do as security of the Blood Drive. (More information in commentary.)
This was an update meeting. The outcome was me saying this is what needs to be done and him saying they ca do that and to keep him updated.
I was nervous but confident. Talking to Gunny Myrick and going over the blood drive with him and how many cadets I would need from his JROTC unit along with any questions, comments, and concerns he may have on what I was asking from him. Using the ABC's of communication made this much easier than I had expected and all is going according to plan.
Wednesday 11 January 2017
I met with Sgt. K Army recruiter to talk about what it would take to have them help me put a competition between civilians and the Army recruiters of that office. we went over dates, current conflicts with the date, what all was needed, and the time frame I am looking at holding my event.
I felt confident that they would help and find a way to make this work. They were very reassuring that this could work.
Sunday 29 January 2017
I met with my new Project facilitator Mrs. Cindy Lamonte. We looked over the facilitator paperwork and went over what exactly my project is. In addition I answered any questions she had and she looked at locations to host the event.
I am very confident this will work out very well.
Monday 13 February 2017
Still waiting on an email about the location from Mrs. Lamonte. My other project facilitator has been out of town frequently and has not been much help. However, That may help me in the long run.
I am feeling nervous about my project at this time.
Wednesday 1 March 2017
( End of log 2)
Updates on senior project and letting Ayers know that his cadets will be om overall security.
This was fairly easy to do and he was completely cooperative.
Tuesday 2 March 2017
We talked about my POC ( point of contact) and spoke about sending documents to him ( to be mentioned later)
This was fun and interesting.
I sent Palmer and Ayers a copy of the job descriptions sheet and the volunteer sheet documents.
I am confident all will go well and can't wait to hear back from them.
12:39 and 14:36
Confirmations on the documents arrival and that they will indeed use the documents as seen.
I called to check on my entertainment and they had an event come up that could offer more and they took the gig.
I'm glad things are going so well.
This was a hard blow but it's business. This is a rough business to be in but I am sure it will be worth the outcome.
I offered to come to RRHS on Monday 6 March 2107 to talk to the cadets about my senior project.
I also found out that the red cross cannot help me with my senior project.
Ayers responded and said that would be great. I am so pleased with how things are going currently.
I am upset with this but With the date conflict taking as long as it did to get confirmation on this was entirely on my head.
Total hours so far: 15 hours 44 minutes

Monday,6 March 2017
I went to River Ridge High School and talked to each JROTC class individually about what my senior project is and asked them for volunteers to help me out and let them know they would get food and community service hours.
I enjoyed my time at the school. Everyone was friendly and I got many cadets to sign up to help out.
Tuesday,7 March 2017
I called The Little Red School House. Which was my location for my event and they said that my facilitator went by and told them I didn't need that space and that it was too small. My facilitator never told me they were going to do that or that they cancelled my location. Within an hour of searching for a new location I obtained Woodstock Lodge 246 as my new location.
I was very stressed. I learned that even though you can push people to do what they need to, sometimes you still have to check what they are doing.
Wednesday 8 March 2017
My entertainment told me they couldn’t make it. I then turned to my neighbor who works with snakes and reptiles and asked if she would be willing to help me out. We then met to get food and go over the facts of what I wanted her to do, what type of event it was, and things of that nature.
I was relived when Pam and her husband accepted the job as close to the event date as it was. I felt very lucky.
Thursday 9 March 2017
I finalized my list of cadets for the event Saturday after my CHIPs Training at 1800. ( I was not driving)
I was tired but knew this would be quite worth it.
Friday 10 March 2017
My family and I bought food for the event. It was 100 hamburgers and 50 hot dogs. Along with chips, buns, 3 cases of coke, 3 cases of sprite, and one case of diet coke. There were condiments as well.
It was hectic trying to grab everything and we spent $300 on food.
Sat 11 March 2017
I went and picked up cadets that didn't have a ride and brought them to my house to help us get things ready before we left to head out to the location.
Well worth helping he cadets when they are helping me.
( End of log 3)
We got to the location early and set up. At 2P.M. which was supposed to be when we opened my recruiters and entertainment still hadn't arrived. I called them and they arrived shortly after and got set up.
I was extremely nervous. It all pulled together in the end though. Sadly I did not have as much of a turn out as I had hoped but the weather was cold and a little rainy to which deterred people from my event. My event was both indoors and outdoors.
Total hours: 38 hours 6 minutes 21 seconds
