Biomimicry in architecture Design a building with a specific use and purpose, using design in nature as the key components of the structure. 1.Function and purpose of building Beach Resort Research current building styles for this structure2. Armors were copied from turtle shells, turtle shells are covered by thin layers of keratinous multi-layers, which protect the turtle and she other parts of the shell. Shields and armors from old soldiers are built like this, causing more protection to the soldiers. Biomimicry and architecture Monday, May 15, 2017 7:44 PM Innovation Page 1 Begin to research either an animal, or plant structures that could possibly be used1. The animals that we were inspired by were Sharks and Sea turtles. We though that the teeth of a Shark was very interesting and could be used in a building design. The difference between land turtles and sea turtles is that land turtles have webbed feet since they spend time in both water and land. Sea turtles have long webbed feet since they are aquatic animals. The shell of a sea turtle is more flat to glide through the water while a regular turtle has more of a triangle like shape Decide on your Bio inspiration and do more research and clip information here. For our Paint 3D design, the animals that we used were a shark and a sea turtle. For our design, we made a beach resort. For our biomimicry, we used shark teeth and the turtle shell, we used the shark teeth so the birds wont surround the building since its sharp. We also used the turtle shell as a roof to protect the inside from any natural disasters or it from collapsing since the foundation is sand. Innovation Page 4
