Cultural traditions and significant locations:
Marae: The Marae were once the center if power in ancient Polynesia. These large sacred stone structures skin to temples hosted the important events of the times, including the worship of the gods, peace treaties, celebrations of war, and the launch of voyages to colonize distant lands.
Heiva I Tahiti: In celebration of ancient traditions and competitions the annual Heiva festival has been the most important festival and event in Tahiti for the past 122 year. This event takes place in July. For visitors there is no better place to be but there in Tahiti for the festivity.
Point Venus: Point Venus is the northern most point in the island of Tahiti, this is where captain James Cook set up his observatory to watch the transit of Venus during his second trip to Tahiti. The observatory was converted into a light-house which is still in existence today, because of this historical significance point Venus is where many people gathered to watch the recent transit of Venus earlier this month on June 5 2012.

Climate: Annual Tempture is 80 degrees. From November-April climate is warmer and more humid with daily high temps of 85 degrees and lows of 70 degrees at night.
Activites: In Tahiti, they have numerous things you can do for fun, like golfing, surfing, sea diving, fishing, shopping, relaxation, hikes, sailings, tours, snorkeling and more.
Foods: Most of the foods they have in Tahiti are fish, fruit, chicken, shrimp, salads etc.
