Vaccines help prevent on average more than 2.5 million deaths every year.
Vaccines have greatly reduced the number of disease outbreaks in the world today, but some would argue that they have caused more harm than the good they have provided.
Vaccines cause mental disabilities such as Down syndrome, Autism, and Cerebral Palsy (no links to be proven correct yet)
Pregnant woman should get vaccinated to pass it onto their child who has no immune system. Not safe to be vaccinated after the start of the second trimester.
Some religions are opposed to vaccinations. The MMR and chicken pox vaccination once contained gelatin derived from pigs and the Jewish and Muslim faiths are against consuming it.
There are no laws saying that you have to be vaccinated but not being vaccinated can exclude you from certain things.
The lack of vaccination in todays society is the cause of some of the major disease outbreaks in the world today.
For my product I choose to administer a flu shot clinic and raise awareness as to how vaccinations are actually very important to get.
Career Link to Product
I choose the career of nursing. Nurses advocate for vaccinations to help educate the patients on how they are used and how there is actually no scientific evidence that they do harm. Nurses do have to respect everyone's opinions and their views but they can at least educate each person on the importance that vaccinations play in our world.

Challenges with Product
Coming up with the dates… planning it within the right times to get the flu shot, knowing when flu season begins (October- May).
Trying to work with the Nursing homes we went to and making sure they got the paper work earlier so it wouldn't ’t take as long when we got there.
The biggest bump in the road was at one of the nursing homes they got their dates mixed up and thought we were coming the next, luckily they had the paperwork already done, it was just the hassle of telling the residents it was happening today and having to wait for some to get up, then some missed it due to them being gone not knowing the right date so the nurse I shadow had to go back a second time.
Also at the nursing home we were not set up in a very good location.. All of the residents came to us at once and there was no seating so we had to go and grab chairs because most of them could not stand that long. If I was to do it over I would've staggered them and went and got each one when it was their turn.
What I Learned about me?
I learned that I am not the best at handling all the stress that comes along with planning an event. All I did was worry that no one would show up or that I advertised for the wrong dates, but in the end it all turned out pretty well. I didn't ’t feel as though I was in a time crunch I used all of my time wisely and finished the project so I wouldn't ’t be stressed out. Working at the pharmacy really helped out with my interpersonal skills being demonstrated during the clinic. I saw a lot of familiar faces and even some new ones that I meet and got to know a little about.
What will I do Next?
This project has helped me reassure the fact that I do have the same career plans as I did before going into it.
