Based on the Documentary of “Natural Porn Killer”, there is relation between the Ted Bundy and Travis Hirschi’s Control Theory. Theodore Robert Bundy was born on November 24, 1946 in Burlington, VT. He claimed to live a healthy childhood with a good family, and he was never physically nor sexually abused. However, there were witness who said that his father was WWII who impregnated Bundy’s mother, and eventually abandoned her. She moved to a different Washington, and to hide the shame she passed Bundy as her younger brother. As he grew up and reached teenage years he became possessive, narcissistic and highly interested on Detective magazines, those were erotic magazines that were very graphic and violent. Those magazines fueled his fantasies. After the could not get more excitement from those magazines, he started picking outside windows, and masturbated at the same time. Bundy confessed to be addicted to porn, and like every addiction he craved something stronger; however, his addiction turned him in to a serial killer.
He was said to be the devil in human form due to his crimes and what led to kill more than 100 women. On January 14,1974 Bundy attacked his first victim, a girl was found in her bed, in a puddle of blood nearly dead with a metal object in her vagina. Later om he started murdering women, and stated that he would feel remorse after killing, but the impulse to do it again would come back even stronger. After killing he would go back to living a normal life, and started a relationship with a young divorcee, and she testified about their violent sexual life, as well as Bundy’s unusual behavior. Possession was at the bottom of his killing desire, and the pleasure it gave him.
After several murders, he was finally arrested with kidnap charges, and he was given 15 years in prison and eventually escaped. While being on the run he did not kill anyone for a while, but he kept picking inside women’s rooms. Until one say he broke into a sorority house and killed 2 young women, and raping at least one. His last victim was a 12-year-old girl, this murder made him very more remorse than any other of his victims, but during his arrest he showed no remorse.
During Bundy’s trial, he represented himself in court. This case was known to be one of the most bizarre case due to the amount of female audience who fantasizes about him. While Bundy was behind bars he received a large amount letters, erotic stories of women who expressed they wanted sexual encounters of them as well as nude pictures of them. He spent 10 years on death row, but he ran out of appeals.
During this interview, Bundy said that porn ruined his life, and his life and several others would have been much better if he had not been exposed to that negative influence. Bundy took responsibility for his actions and wished he had not killed all those women, and ruined so many lives. On the day of his execution the crow was very anxious, and wanted Bundy dead in exchange of justice for all the lives he took. Ted Bundy carried out his sentence on the electric chair on January 24, 1989, at Florida State Prison, FL.
In conclusion, this documentary and its relation with the Control Theory is how Ted Bundy was highly obsessed with hard core pornography. His addiction made him look for something stronger, but he could not find anything to satisfy his fantasies. Involuntarily he became a serial killer who could not control his impulses.
