The Creation Story
On The first day God created darkness, then he created night and day. This all began when God commanded “Let there be light!” Then light appeared. God was satisfied with what he created. He called the light day, and the darkness night.
The second day God created the sky. He created the sky to separate the waters. A quote from Gen 1:6-8 Then God said, "Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters." explains God intention when he made the sky.
On the third day God created Land and vegetation. He called the land ‘Earth’ and the water, ‘Sea’. He created every plant and tree. Gen 1:9-13 Then God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear"
The Fourth Day God created the sun, moon, and the stars to give light to the earth and to govern and separate the day and the night. These would also serve as signs to mark seasons, days, and years.
On day five, God created all of the fish and birds. He created them to fill the seas with life and the skies with joy. The fish and birds are a very important part of our Home.
On the Sixth Day God created the animals to fill the earth, and he also created mankind, Adam and Eve. God gave Adam and Eve everything they needed to survive.
On the seventh and final day, God rested. This is why we take our Sundays off and rest as Catholics. We keep the Sabbath day Holy.
