My Project Facilitator: Austin Barrett
Ever since Austin was a little boy watching major league baseball on his television, he knew he wanted to pursue the game of baseball anyway he could. He started off playing little league and eventually prospered into a solid all around baseball player. After high school, he went to play baseball at Mercer University. When it got to his senior year, he was looking into entering the MLB draft until a major injury restrained him from doing so. Instead, he graduated with a degree in business. Austin and I met when I was 16 years old because he was my coach for the East Cobb Black Knights. When I chose my topic of my senior project, I knew immediately that I was going to contact him to be my facilitator because I knew, from experience, that he would back me up, help me in any way that he could, and that he would want the best outcome for me. Austin had the experience of not only being a player but now also a coach which was perfect for the task I was tackling. He not only knew the game inside and out from playing but he had coaching experience under his belt as well. Austin is a well-rounded man who likes things done to the best of their ability. He doesn’t like short cuts and wants things done the right way. Austin made my life easy when it came to the project because he was just as dedicated to it as I was.
