What is a Computer System?
A computer system is a system that is capable of taking a set of input, work on them and process them in order to give out an output. This can be done through a combination of hardware and software.

What does the term retrieval refer to?
Data can be stored on the computer. When the computer needs any of this stored data, it must get it from the memory source. This process is known as retrieval.
What does the term input mean? Give 3 examples of input devices.
Input refers to the process of transferring data into the computer. One can do this by using various input devices, such as mouse, microphone and scanner.
What does the term output mean? Give 3 examples of output devices.
Output happens when the computer processes the input and send it outwards to the user. This can be sent out in many different forms such as visual through a monitor, on paper through a printer and by sound through speakers.
Define the term processing.
Processing is when the data entered into the computer is worked upon, manipulated, in order to produce some sort of meaningful information for the user.

How can computers share information?
Computers are able to share information in different ways. This can be done by storing information on secondary storage devices such as a USB stick, or by sending information through internet.
What are peripherals?
Peripherals are input devices, output devices, or input/output devices. These are also hardware.
What does the term haptic refer to?
This refers to a type of output done by the computer. This can be described as a vibration of some kind, just like a mobile phone vibrates in order to let you know that you received a message.
What is Hardware?
Hardware are those components of the computer that you can physically touch and move around the room. They are the physical parts that make up the computer.
Explain the difference between internal and external hardware. You can use examples to help you.
Internal hardware are those devices which are fond within the computer, such as hard disk, fan, motherboard and sound card. This is opposite to the external hardware which are found outside the computer such as monitor, printer, keyboard and mouse.
What is Software?
Software are the applications and programming instructions that tell the computer what to do. A computer will do nothing without these.

Systems software is that software that control the way the computer works and what it should do such as, operating system, utilities and user interface. The application software are what you would use on the computer to do your work and have fun such as, WORD, EXCEL and games.
