Jeff Cullen contacted me asking what I thought we spent in May per person for meals. The following is the information I texted to him.
We fixed 7 group breakfasts, 1 group lunch, 6 group dinners, 5 days of packing lunches, 1 senior breakfast and 1 senior lunch (15 people).
So if you count the 2 senior meals as 1 group meal that equals 20 group meals with approximately 53 people per meal. We spent just short of $4,000. That is about $200 a meal which is close to $4.00 per meal per person. That includes purchases of extras like toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, mops, bath mats, etc.
I did not see how much we spent on the senior dinner or Fun Day lunch and dinner.
You should probably add another $200 - $300 if the beef is not donated. (1/3 lbs. burgers = 18 lbs. @ $7.00 per lb. = $126.00) (steaks were about 3 per $12.00 x 18 = $216.00) Just to be safe or the water goes bad like one time.
Figure about $100 a person for the week of meals without factoring in whatever is spent on buying Fun Day meals or senior dinner on Fri.
