The brief instructed us to create a show for E4, making sure that it was aimed at 14-20 year olds. Also it had to be a music magazine programme, we had completed this by including music videos which appealed to this specific audience. Within the brief E4 stated that the programme needed to be ‘fresh’. This was fulfilled by interviewing artists that the target audience would like. The brief also mentioned the need of multi-cameras which was incorporated within the programme as we had 3 camera operators, which meant that we had a range of shots from different camera which meant the director was able to change camera shots in-between the show this made it more satisfying to watch. I also liked how the camera shots were still and not moving and how the shot was always changed to the right camera. As seen below in the print screens at 10:50min the camera changes as we see the guest and presenter having at a rap battle, this enables us to show a range of shots throughout the programme.
We had chosen the roles which we thought suited us the most, this meant me making my mind up what job I was going to choose and what job I most was interested about and a career which I wanted to pursue. My first choice was the camera operator as I had a lot of experience in camera work as I had used cameras for over 5 years, this meant me choosing it as my first option. The second option I had chosen is the VT operator as I had a lot of ideas in mind and I wanted to create a lot of the pre reordered footage, this meant me editing as well as recording and I thought that I loved to record and also after recording the footage I would need to edit it and I know how to edit so this will have made it a lot easier as imovie and final cut express were two software’s which were very familiar to me as I have used for a couple of years in my media subject.
After applying for both job I was very lucky as I got the camera operator job, this job was the job I really wanted. As a camera operator I had to work with 2 other camera operators, for the first job as camera operator we had to set the equipment roughly and then do a risk assessment which meant us listing the hazards and then saying how will we control it, for example the are lot of camera wires which is a minor hazard which means people falling, to control it we can make everyone aware of the wires so the are more cautious.
As a camera operator our main objective was that we needed to be able to do different shots as we must have been able to know what the other shots create, and also as a camera operator we must have been able to show a variety of shots and also use our own initiative.
Also we had more pre production work like practicing the range of the shots and then we listed all the Shots on a chart then we took pictures which illustrated the shots, after that we had two lessons where we set the camera’s up for live day and then we practice with the shots we wanted and we had to get more familiar with the camera’s.
During the production stage we all had to use our initiative by this I mean that as a camera operator I always had to make sure that whoever the director told me to focus on always was is in shot, even if they did come out of stage.
During production everything went well, however at the end of the show I was very confused where my camera should go as the other camera operator was in the position I was meant to be, however the solution to this problem was that I had to use my initiative and reframe very quickly on the person I was focusing on.
I had gained a lot of experience from the job I have done as I know how to set up studio camera without any help and this means me not struggling in the future and it will help me if I wanted to pursue camera operator as job as I have a rough idea about the job.
Skills i have gained:
First skill I now have developed is the range of shots I can do using camera, by this I mean I can now confidently change the camera angles and shots
Second skill I have gained is that now I can set up studio camera’s without any assistant and also being able to multi task while on the job because being a camera operator means that you need to listen on the headphones and the act on the information the director has said
Third skill I have develop is using my own initiative and taking ownership in my camera work by this I mean using my initiative while the live show changing the camera position to the right place so that it is in frame.

Analysis of Final Production
Overall our production was very successful as the end result was us having a 40min programme which had pre recorded and live elements. I thought the director had given clear directions on what to do and I like how the director told us how to improve the shots throughout the production.
One example from the show that shows creativity is the part when we see unique element in the show called the natural music challenge, this is where the presenter tries to play an instrument that they have not played in their life and the catch was that the sound had to be very similar to the song which featured on the show.
Another element we done well was that the content appealed to the audience and it interacted with the audience as we had snap chat reactions which had been sent in, this is why I thought the audience were more entertained.
I thought the show was well run, by this I mean that show ran on time and all the camera shots were focused where they were meant to be at the right time.
During the show the camera operators had shots which was visually pleasing by this I mean it kept the viewers interested for example when the rap battle happened the camera changed to Matthews shot which showed his facial expression and body language.
During the show we communicated meaning well to the viewers as we showed how the audience should feel at home as you can see at 36:34 we have a camera focused on the artist performing, then we see the presenters waving the hands in the air to show the atmosphere is very calm and relaxed, this tells the audience how to feel.
Also during the show I think that the vision mixer had used good effects, especially at 36:36 we see them have a good effect when the camera, this maintains the viewers interest and also look visually more pleasing as the effect suits the atmosphere of the song.
During the production of the show I thought that some of the camera shots when out of frame, this is because of the studio as you can see at 11;58 we see a shot of the Matthew the guest the shot is placed outside the stage this is why the shot did not visually look good but however it did show the guest, that was the most important factor.
Also during the production we had to have multi camera to record stage as we wanted all the spontaneous action to be recorded like the spontaneous rap battle at 12 min of the show.
During the end of the show we see a camera shot which shows the stage where both presenters are, we only had one camera focusing on both of the presenters due to constraint of the studio because we could not have fitted more than 3 camera’s in the studio.ctor told me to focus on always was is in shot, even if they did come out of stage.
Second skill I have gained is that now I can set up s
