And what finland is to me
By milla korva
So who is this Milla anyway?
I was born and raised right here in Oulu. I live in Maikkula with my boyfriend and our dog, Lara. It takes almost an hour to get to school by bus (thought you would like to know that). It's my fourth year studying early childhood education here at the Univeristy of Oulu.
So for me much of Finland's awesomeness is about the nature and changing seasons. Here you can see two nice wintery sceneries. Nice and cold! The one on the left is near my current home and the one on the right was taken several years ago on my childhood home's back yard.
After winter we of course have spring! That's when my birthday is but that's about all that's good about Finnish spring. It's just awkward and grey before the nature wakes up again.
I love summer! The thing is that mosquitoes love summer too. And they love me. The feeling is not mutual. In the summertime I can't go to the forests, which sucks. A campfire can keep them away, though.
And finally we have fall. I can have my daily forest trips with my dog again. Fall is a pretty popular time to go hiking. I actually found a new hobby this fall, which is picking up mushrooms. It's so much fun! Lara can be your guide through the forest in this one...
