I personally trained Grant on building arm strength.
Commentary: Grant had broken his arm and shattered his elbow falling down a flight of stairs. Since his arm has recovered he has noticed it has become weaker and it is difficult for him to strengthen it. With clients that have disabilities, I must learn to take different approaches to work around there disability and obtain there goal.
Time Spent: 2 hours
Total Time Thus Far:
7 1/2 hours
Setting goals for Grant
Commentary: After spending a couple of days learning how to work around Grant’s disability and getting to know him on a personal level, I was able to start talking to him about short and long term goals for his arms. We spent this time planning out workout that will insure him making progress in strengthening his arms in the future. His long term goal he told me to make his whole body stronger once his arms get better.

I worked on chest and shoulder day with Stephen.
I taught him proper form on bench and got his bench max up to 185 lbs. When I first started teaching Stephen about bodybuilding, his bench max was 115 lbs.
11 ½ hours
I worked on leg day with Stephen.
I taught him better form on squats and cave raises. Stephen is never really motivated to do leg day, so I helped him find more motivation for it, and now he says he will look forward to the next leg day.
13 ½ hours
I worked on arm day with Stephen.
Arm day is Stephen’s favorite day and is already motivated without me, but I was able to push him out of his comfort zone. For muscles to grow even bigger, they have to be pushed harder every time. I taught him to change up his routine.
15 ½ hours
I worked on back day with Stephen
Back day is one of the most important days for bodybuilders. The back has the biggest muscles in the body, and also are the main stabilization muscles. When I first taught Stephen about back day, he had little to no strength in his back. Today Stephen showed amazing improvement.
17 ½ hours
I talked with my project facilitator John.
John went over with me everything I’ve learned about being a personal trainer, and how compliancy is major factor in clients.
