Thank you for attending Parent/Teacher Conferences in support of student learning. The teachers are appreciative of the home-school connection and proud to hear the students express their progress.

This Week At Our School...
Jump Rope For Heart Recap (AGCS)
Last week, AGCS participated in 'Jump Rope for Heart' by enjoying a full day of learning about living out a healthy lifestyle and fun physical activity. Some students also participated by raising money to help fund research for the American Heart Association. Here are some shots of students having fun!
Shades and Shadow with Watercolor Paints (4th Grade)
Here's a recap of an activity fourth graders participated in from the fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Sung:
"Fourth graders experimented with their watercolors this week. They learned how shades change color depending on the amount of water and paint that is used. Then we practiced our shading by painting spheres with shadows. We noticed the difference between painting on wet paper and painting on dry paper. The wet paper allows the paint to blend. The dry paper allows the paint to be more intense in color."
You can view the Sway created by Mrs. Sung here or view a slideshow of images in this newsletter!
Field Trip to UW Meany Hall (6th-10th)
On Tuesday, November 15th, Renton Prep secondary students took a trip to University of Washington's Meany Hall Performance Center to experience Imani Winds, a woodwind performance group. The group played a medley of many songs, Jazz music, African music, and more!
Trip to Microsoft (9th/10th)
On Wednesday, November 16th, Renton Prep high schoolers received the opportunity to visit the Microsoft store in University Village to experience the new Surface Studio. Jennifer Fernandez, a 10th grade student, documented and explained what occurred on this trip for us to see in a Youtube video. Other high school students also documented their experiences through Twitter.
