The Evolution of the American Dream The American dream has always meant different things to people at different stages in American History. Happiness to some individuals meant freedom from an oppressive government in colonial America, having 40 acres and a mule in the 1800 ’ s, or a beautiful house with a white picket fence in the 1950 ’ s. In the 21st Century, what is your American dream? Project Packet Contents Your American Dream Project Packet includes: Cover (drawn by hand) Biographical Stick Figure Letter To Future Self American Dream Questions Project CoverDesign your cover Your cover page should reflect your thoughts, beliefs and ideas about what the American Dream means to you. You must include on your cover: Title - The American Dream Student name (first and last name) Period number Year Motto, quote or favorite saying from your stickman ’ s mouth Letter To Future Self Use your responses from the stick figure pre-write to develop a well written letter to your future self. Your essay should include interesting characteristics, ideas, sayings, actions and beliefs about yourself. Your essay should be a minimum of 10 sentences (10 stickman responses) and no longer than a page and half.
