Pharisee, Nicodemus comes to Jesus at night calling him Rabbi from God. (1-2)
Jesus says to see Kingdom of God you must be born again, which Nicodemus questions. (3-4)
Jesus answers, you must be born of water & Spirit. Flesh gives flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. (5-6)
Don’t be surprised, the Spirit is like the wind blowing wherever it pleases. So it is with those born of the Spirit. (7-8)
How can this be? (Nic) You, Nicodemus are Israel’s teacher & do not understand. We speak what we know & testify to what is known, but you don’t accept it. You do not believe what I speak. (9-12)
None have been to heaven except the one from heaven. The Son of Man must be lifted so all who believe may have eternal life. (13-15)
God so love the world & gave his only Son, so whoever believes will not perish, but have eternal life. I come not to condemn, but save the world. Those believing in Him are saved & those unbelievers stand condemned. (16-18)
Though light has come into the world, the people love darkness & evil. They fear the light which might reveal their sinful deeds. But those living in truth know their sins may be seen by God. (19-21)
Jesus & disciples go into Judea where He spent time with them & baptized. John, prior to imprisonment, was baptizing too, near Salim where people were coming. An argument between John’s disciples & a Jew over ceremonial washing & people were going to him. (22-24)
John explained, a person can only receive what is given from heaven. You already know I am not the Messiah, but am sent ahead of Him. (25-28)
The bride belongs to groom & friend who attends groom listens & is full of joy when he hears the groom. That joy is mine & is complete. Therefore, He must become more & I must be less. (29-30)
The one from above is above all, those of earth belong & speak as one of the earth. (31)
The one from heaven is above all & testifies to all he has seen, but none accept his testimony. Those that have accepted it & know God is truthful. (32-33)
He who God sends speaks words of God & gives the Spirit without limit. The Father has placed everything in the hands of the Son. (34-35)
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but those that reject Him will not see life & receive God’s wrath. (36)
Nicodemus questions second birth (1-21)
John the Baptist reaffirms testimony to questioning disciples (22-30)
Jesus is over all & those without him receive wrath (31-36)
Trust in Jesus is the only path to eternal life.
TCAT know Jesus is the way & the truth to life eternal with Him.
