Almoners report 27th September 2016
1. During the summer recess I made various phone calls to brethren who don’t always have the best of health. W.Bro Callum Holdaway, spoke to his wife Doreen who assured me he was ok and working in his garden.
2. Made several calls to Bro. Geoff Pavey and left messages, he eventually called me back and was pleased I’d called him. He said his wife was still unwell and that her health was not likely to improve. I sent a bouquet of flowers on be half of the W.M. and the brethren wishing them well.
3.Made a visit to W.Bro. Billy Wright and we spoke of his days when he was active in the lodge. Even now he likes to quote parts of our ceremony.
4. W.Bro Ed Saunders phoned me to say he was ok but not ready to return to the lodge. I brought him up to date with various bits of news.
5. My latest bit of news is the wife of W.Bro Ron Stagg, Pam. Pam has had a new knee joint and is recovering in hospital, I shall send some flowers to her home ready for her home coming.
6.Bro. Dereck Graves a former member of Wayland died on 10th July. He was the charity steward and assistant secretary. Some of the older member will remember him. W.Bro Bob Hammond attended the funeral and assisted Dereck’s widow in making the arrangements. Thank you Brother Bob.
