Comments by Matthew H Kiehn: This was a goal to help with making sure that trade and compliance had all the documentation needed to ensure no delays in shipment. Lynnette has organized all the field inspections and phytos to help make sure that all the documentation needed for a shipment is where is housed where it needs to be. This helps with saving time from manufacturing and supply asking for documentation and holding shipments until they have it.
Goal: SAFETY GOAL - Continue to be a member of the BBPE (Blood Borne Pathogen Exposure Control) Committee. Continue to be a First Aid Responder Continue to take any & all safety related course needed throughout the year.

Overall Business Comments Lynnette does a good job of writing up the goals and listening specific examples to show her success. I would like to see more breakdowns with milestones in next year's goals. I would encourage Lynnette to start writing her goals now, for FY16.
Overall Development Comments
I would like to see Lynnette reach out more to the other assistants. She reaches out to mainly Cara and myself. I do most of her double checks, and at times my time is limited. I would like to see her relationships improve with others in the department besides Cara.
Courage and Candor is not an issue with Lynnette. She will say what is on her mind. I would like to know why she uses capital lettering so much. It comes off as aggressive. I would like to see a reduced amount of the capital lettering, unless it is to show something really important.
Agility is usually not an issue with Lynnette. I tried to give as much notice as I can, but sometimes that is not possible. Lynnette is pretty good about changing directions if she is given a little bit of time.
Initiative and foresight has been something we have been working on the last couple of years. There is way too much "last minute" type of behavior. It makes it more difficult for my time management.

This is an area where Lynnette really excels. She does a great job in making sure we get QA results in a timely matter. This is very helpful in tight crop turns. I also like seeing the teamwork part with the Idaho group. This is a good way to interact with that group, which is going to need more help in the future with two new hires.
The Spring GH being completed so early this year, is very helpful in order to help with getting speedier pgo results. I am hopeful we can start doing this with the onion and melon cage material as well.
I see a comment on the KPI information for assistants. I would like to see what the assistants have currently for KPI, and become more uniformed with WW foundation seed for cucurbits and root and bulb.
Goal: INVENTORY CLEANUP - Joint goal with Matt Kiehn. Make SPACE for 2013 ONION CAGE & 2013 MELON CAGE and 3 GREENHOUSES samples in Cold Storage Box #15 and #9. THROUGHOUT THE 2014 FISCAL YEAR MATT & I HAVE DONE "A LOT" OF CLEANING UP AND ORGANIZING WITH OUR MELON AND ONION INVENTORIES ~ SEE BATCHES CREATED AND SENT TO OXNARD FOR MELON & ONION SEED ABOVE.
This has been helpful for us, because of the lack of space in cold storage. Lynnette has been very helpful organizing these lots, and getting the seed to Oxnard for SSI or Ph. 4 productions. We will continue to do this in FY15. This is a great wintertime project for us.
Lynnette has done a good job labeling trays to show what each tray holds. I think we need to find more than one time a year to condense the trays of seed. There are a lot of empty trays that are taking up space. Lynnette might want to do this once in 1st quarter and once at 3rd quarter to make sure we have enough room for new incoming lots of seed.
The SAP IL area needs some more improvement. We have a lot of open IL's that need to be closed or to have results entered into them. Most of these are for pgo, and we need to come up with a system to run a query in access showing pgo results, and then getting that information into SAP.
Goal: FTS - Joint goal with Matt Kiehn. Matt would like me to take over the melon portion of FTS and start creating sets for Chile, Spring GH 2014, Woodland Cages and Fall GH 2014. Learning how to Import traits into FTS, entering in inventory amounts, publishing and creating Rubicon projects.

Lynnette needs to focus more on this goal for FY15. She has started creating sets, but still needs to complete the sets and get the FS lots into inventory management. She will need to schedule some time with different users of FTS. I wouldn't just use a FS source, or Breeding, etc. This would be a great networking tool for other FS team members and other departments in research.
Lexicon has also been tied into this goal. We need to have pictures for manufacturing to have and this is the current computer program we are using. I get emails from production research asking about new ph. 4 varieties and they are almost never entered into Lexicon. I showed Lynnette how to do this, and she said she understood the process. This will need quarterly targets going into FY15.
Lynnette has attended multiple trainings for FTS, but needs to have more hands on training.
Lynnette is also starting to publish FS lots, and receive lots from breeding.
Goal: Work Instructions - Make some PROGRESS with FS WOODLAND WORK INSTRUCTIONS in the FS SHARE DRIVE.

OUR CURRENT FS MELON GREEN HOUSE # 35 IS A WONDERFUL EXAMPLE OF THIS AS IT HAS GONE VERY SMOOTHLY FROM SEED OUT, GMS TISSUE SAMPLING, SORTING OF MALE / FEMALE PLANTS, TRANSPLANT, TAG HANGING, FLOWER READING & POLLINATIONS. IT IS A WONDERFUL SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT TO FEEL SOME SENSE OF CONTROL OVER OUR DAILY SCHEDULE WHEN WE ARE ABLE TO PREPARE IN ADVANCE FOR UPCOMING PROJECTS.
I see improvement here in some areas, but still more development is needed. I think Lynnette needs to focus more in our down times, to help her be more organized in here busy times. We tried to develop a crop calendar last year, and I am not sure if Lynnette is using this or not.
My responsibilities will continue to increase, so I need Lynnette's to continue at the same rate. I see her being more flat right now, but I need her to increase her responsibilities in order to help with some of my new responsibilities.
