Bass Guitar Project
Welcome to my Project!
For my senior project I have put together a fully functional bass guitar, I started by collecting the materials I need for the project based on the little I know about woodworks, which required sawing and purchasing materials.
Picture of Facilitator?
I learned about the bass itself from the inside wiring to the strings used to play the instrument, I also learned the differences between your average guitar and the bass guitar.
Knowing the inside of the guitar is extremely helpful when putting it together, as well putting it together myself brings a new sound to the instrument.
Career Link to Product
I have always had a history in music, my roots lie right it, my grandfather is a local well known musician, my father on the other side is a strong guitarist, and I have considered going into a field of music.
This project has shown me that woodwork is a lot harder than it looks, and that I enjoy it much more than I thought I would, which has had me consider going into this field in the future.
I also have some Ideas for future project like this one such as:
Plexiglass/Acrylic body to head, with a stained glass pattern.
Fully tin metal body stained with coal to give a rustic old look.
What I Learned about me?
In the midst of this project my facilitator taught me how to properly use drill bits, jigsaws, the use of clamps, and other power tools.
As in music we have to keep the time, using drill bits and other tools use the same basics.
The use of such tools will help me in the further in the future.
What will I do Next?
A field that involves music is what I’d love the most.
I would love to practice music in the future, but this project has shown me I love the accomplishment of holding the guitar I put together, and I think I’d love to do that.
