Depths and Landforms of Oceans

The Sigsbee Deep located in the southwestern quadrant is the deepest region of THE GULF OF MEXICO. Its exact maximum depth is controversial, and reports by different authers state maximum depths ranging from 3,750m to 4,384m.
In oceanography it is sometimes called the eurafrica MEDITERRANEAN SEA or the European Mediterranean Sea to distinguish it from Mediterranean Sea elsewhere. The Mediterranean Sea has an average depths of 1,500m (4,000 ft) and the deepest recorded points 5,267m (17,280 ft) in the Calypso Deep in the INDIAN SEA.
The average depth of the Atlantic, with its adjacent seas, is 3,339 meters (10,955 ft); without them it is 3,926 meters (12,881 ft). The greatest depth, Milwaukee Deep with 8,605 meters (28,232 ft), is in the Puerto Rico Trench.
