This diagram is on page 77 in my Life Story.
I HAVE AFTER ALL MANAGED TO DRAW A ROUGH SKETCH GIVING YOU SOME IDEA WHAT A VEHICLE`S HEAD-LIGHT WAS LIKE DURING THE 2ND. WORLD WAR, THE TOP ITEM IS THE FRONT VIEW SHOWING JUST VERTICAL LINES THAT COULD ONLY BE SEEN A FEW FEET AWAY FROM THE HEAD-LIGHT. BELOW DIAGRAM IS THE SIDE VIEW SHOWING THE LIGHT BEAM POINTING JUST SIX FEET AWAY FROM THE HEAD-LIGHT.
HEAD-LIGHTS ON VEHICLES WERE THIS SHAPE & IF YOU WISH TO LOOK AT ICON IN THE SAME FOLDER MARKED PAGE 295 THEN YOU CAN SEE A VEHICLE WITH THE SAME TYPE OF HEAD-LAMP. IT WOULD BE SO DIFFICULT TO FIX A PLATE ON VEHICLE HEAD-LIGHTS THESE DAYS, HOWEVER I SUPPOSE THEY WOULD COME UP WITH SOME OTHER SOLUTION TO LIMIT THE LIGHT BEAM SO IT COULD NOT BE SEEN BY THE ENEMY ABOVE IN THE SKY.
