As an adventurous and curious child, Anna Cowen has always had an imaginative mind. When she was young she was always amazed by photos.
"I always saw the beauty in things", Anna with a smile on her face.
In high school her mother bought her first camera. During high school, Anna played around with the camera by taking photos of her friends.
"It was cheap and not the best quality but I loved it and I was so excited to have a camera", Anna explained with a calm expression.
Her step-mom is a professional photographer and although she didn’t live near she tried to help teach Anna whenever she could. Anna looked up to her step-mom, Cathy, and she loved seeing her photos.
Anna expressed with a grin, "My step-mom is one of my biggest inspirations, I really look up to her!"
Then she went to college. Not knowing with what she wanted to do, she went with her passion and took photography classes.
Anna spoke with a calm voice, "I took classes at Kennesaw State University and my dad and step-mom also taught me a lot."
"Unfortunately I decided that photography was not an ideal career for me and that it will be more of a hobby for me. Um being a photography can be hard and you might always be making steady money if you aren't always doing photoshoots for people", Anna looked down as she spoke and sounded slightly disappointed.
For Anna, still taking photos means a lot to her. Anna becomes so joyful when she talks about photography. She still takes photos of her family and friends. Her favorite photos to take are of dogs.
Anna recently quit her job as a kennel worker at the Animal Hospital of Towne Lake. It was too stressful but by working there she now wants to be a veterinarian. Anna loves dogs and had a few dogs growing up that she was very fond of.
"Although I quit my job at the Animal Hospital, I still want to be a veterinarian!", Anna voiced with enthusiasm with slight sadness in her tone.
Anna then started to talk about how she still will enjoy photography as a hobby. She started to discuss how more challenging taking photos of dogs are than humans.
"Dogs don’t always pose and listen to you so you just have to work with what they are doing. It is extremely difficult but very exciting when you get a good photos. Sometimes they can be great models!", Anna said with some laughter.
Anna is very excited for her future and she is a very motivated person. She hopes to become a successful and amazing veterinarian with time for her favorite hobby, photography.
Anna being interviewed. It was a comfortable interview and Anna was very eager to talk about her life and photography.
