I wish to discuss malware. According to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) malware are programs that get installed on machines that performs unwanted tasks. The four types are viruses, adware spyware, and browser hijacking software.
Viruses can replicate and are designed to cause damage to your machine. The second is adware. Adware is financially supported meaning it causes ads to pop up on your machine. The third is spyware. Spyware gathers information from your machine and transmit it to other parties. The forth is browser hijack software. Browser hijack software changes your browser settings, redirect you to other links, and collects web usage information.
Malware has several ways of getting into your machine. Malware writers use tricks like bundled software also known as a Trojan horse. Malware also get into your machine with programs that say can speed up your machine. Some malware programs give you a uninstall option. You might thing the program is off your machine but it places codes in your registry and modify your operating system.
In my opinion you should only download programs from a trusted source and install a good antivirus program and utilize firewalls.
