Product and pictorial log #2
This is near the beginning of the season, and I'm very nervous about how I will perform as a coach to these kids. My goal is to have an impact on their lives and make them want to come back and play. Some self realizations I have had are that I don't have as much of a fear of public speaking as I thought I did, and that younger kids are easier to talk to than I thought.

It's the First day of practice, I had a meeting with all the parents 10 minutes beforehand, they asked questions and told me the expectations they had for the season
Line Drills (passing and catching in lines)
Ground Ball Drills (same as line drills, except roll the ball instead of throw)
1v1 Ground Balls (one kid against the other fighting for the ground ball)
3v2 Box Drill (3 on offense, 2 on defense, offense tries to create space while defense tries to deny space)
I Cleaned up the field after practice and put the goals away along with the balls, had a coaches meeting to discuss the plan for practice on Wednesday.

I Got to practice early and helped set up the field, got the goals out and lined the field with cones, got the ball bucket from the Chapman Field. I also fixed and strung one of the player's lacrosse sticks.
LB3 Drill (Lines of 3 players per line, first player runs 10 yards around the cone and passes to the next player in line)
1v1 Ground Balls
2v1 Ground Balls (I roll the ball out and all three ry to get it, and the player who gets the ball first is on a team by himself with the other two players playing defense back to the line)
Sharks and Minnows (Game where they all have a ball and have to run from the football goal line to the 20 yard line, and I try to take the ball from them. If I take the ball, they also become a "shark".)
I ended practice and spoke to the kids and they weren't as into the practice today, probably because of the heat.

I Got to practice on time, talked with some of the players and I'm remembering most of their names at this point, it's also very hot today.
2v1 Ground Balls
3v2s (Three players play on offense and two play defense, the offensive players have two complete two passes before they can try to score, while the defense tries to stop them)
Sharks and Minnows
Much better practice today, the kids were more into it and had a lot of fun with the 1v1 ground balls, great practice today
