Hello! My name is Krysta Myers, I am 18 years old and attend Etowah High School. I am the type of person that goes with the flow and avoids drama to live a stress-free life. I'm all around outgoing person who enjoys collecting records from all ages and playing fun music in band. My goals as of now is to graduate from school and college and work in a career where I'm able to help children and adolescents eat a healthy life. For my senior project I chose to bake healthy nutritional desserts for my career goal is to become a Physician Assistants in Nutrition.
As I did my research over the course of several weeks, I came to find out as a Nutritionists/Dietitian you are an outspoken diary. The Nutritionists/Dietitian simply learns about your eating/hobbies/ and your weakness in order to do their job correctly with any obstacles that a patient may face. I learned that I have optional working environments to choose from; whether if I'm working at a hospital or self-employed I can always assure myself that I will be self-motivated and empowered towards patients. I will always be learning and improving my knowledge of the career as I have decided to work under someone who has years of trained experience.
What my product represents is my own take of what a healthy dessert should look like. Of course it seems similar like a store brought products, but the ingredients I used to make my healthy desserts is quite unique. When it comes to creating your own recipes I did face a couple obstacles that I was thankfully able to overcome with my mentor. For example when it came to writing my nutritional facts or measuring how much to put in was quite challenging as I was afraid I added to much or to less.
Though my future career doesn't necessarily involve baking or cooking food for patients, it certainly is more fun then I imagined. From what I learned about myself through this project is for starters I very much dislike eating healthy, but would cook and bake nutritional foods all day. As for my career, I could see myself one day achieving my degree as a Nutritionist. I care for how people treat themselves and wish for those that come into my path to stay healthy and live a fulfilling life.
In the beginning I was not looking forward to doing this project at all. But at the end of it all, I am thankful that I did get to work on senior project this year because it broaden my viewpoints on the career I’m planning to go into. With that, I would like to thank you judges for taking time out to read my letter.
