The role of science and technology in education is becoming important. From the policy of various countries, it is not difficult to see that the trend of globalization of science and technology. America department of education in 1998 first proposed the "National Education Technology Plan" (Call to Action for American in the 21 Century)、Singapore's "IT Master Plan in Education"、Even the Hong Kong government has announced "With time and in use of information technology to learn five years strategy". It plays an important role in education with the change of society and the progress of science and technology ( Craig 2000 ) . The rapid popularization of computer, into the family and school after school, the application of information technology in teaching children has become the essential link. Many studies have confirmed the use of technology on children's learning is effective, studies have pointed out that the use of computer can help children to learn basic math concepts and skills development, spatial ability, cultivate creativity and enhance the ability to solve problems ( Casey 2000 ). But also let children use electronic products also exist some problems, I will discuss on the relationship between technology and education.
Role of Technology in Education
Technology has become an indispensable part of today's life. I think in the teaching of kindergarten can make children absorb more of the in the classroom through the integration of information technology or make the teacher's teaching is more easy and rich ( Wong 2002) . As for the timing of the integration of information into teaching, I think have five stages. I think that the five stages of preparation before class, motivation, activity, teaching activities, and after class evaluation. And this is mainly to explore the preparation before the class, cause motivation and activity.
(1) Preparation Before Class
Preparing for all the lessons before class, including the collection, arrangement and production of lesson plan, plan and course content, and also includes the teacher's understanding of the content and the exercise. For example, teachers teach marine organism. Information on marine organism can be collected on the Internet at the time of preparation. You can also find the picture as a teaching aid.
(2) Cause Motivation
From the perspective of time, motivation beginning of the study, before and after the end of teaching. For example content of marine organism, the image of the film dynamic, more than the static text can cause learning interest. So, in technology into the application, you can use a digital camera or DV camera to take pictures or related teaching film. Can also use a variety of multimedia production software, (For example PowerPoint、Flash、Authorware、Director) Self production course materials, interactive games. such as, look for pictures marine organism in the different Internet, and show them to the children in activities. Let them see what it is. Thus, they have aroused their interest in marine organism.
(3) teaching in class
Generally the traditional lecture teaching is a one-way communication. Therefore, are also produced two major shortcomings. Respectively is monotonous dry and not specific. This can not cause the students learning motivation is also lack of resonance interaction. This affects the learning effect. If teachers can integrate technology teaching, play multimedia rich and diverse characteristics. Will be abstract as a concrete, reduce the obstacles thinking to learning. For example, teachers use self-made dynamic Flash materials, combined with text, graphics and sound, teach students to read and read English pronunciation; use PowerPoint to tell the story, can be more vivid. Such as, to understand the growth of tropical fish. Teacher can find the relevant tropical fish grow fragment from the Internet, play for children to watch. Make them understand the growth process of tropical fish or make their own animation and children watch.
Advantages and Disadvantages of technology
The current technology is changing rapidly. Some products are applied to early childhood education and learning. I have reservations about the advantages and disadvantages of these technology products in teaching children's learning. In advantage, it can reduce the weight of teaching books, can reduce paper. Product advanced, easy to manipulate and master the skills , and the diversification of teaching content, to enhance the interest of children to learn ( Moersch 1995 ) . But there are a lot of disadvantages. For example, as early as children in contact with these electronic teaching, the traditional teaching materials, they feel not enough to attract, reducing the habit of reading books. Make learning interest and lack of concentration ( Dede 1 998 ). Also, such as the long-term use of electronic products, many studies have pointed out that in the early childhood development of vision, waist and neck have a bad effect. In addition, the software also has a number of intelligent systems, is to help adults save writing time. So I think that electronic products and now life and learning is not separate. But adults must instill in children some of the right ideas and methods of using these technology products. Individuals believe that the use of attitude is the most important, so that we can make good use of technology to bring us the benefits, to reduce the disadvantages of science and technology.
Reflection on technology
I think the computer can not provide the actual sensory experience. Oppenheimer(1997) Emphasis on the introduction of technology before the child stage of the teacher's most important is to give children a broad sense of emotion, knowledge and the basis of the five senses. For example when teaching of marine organism all is to use video to lead the whole teaching ( Druin 2009 ) . Children may not be able to have a real sense of stimulation. For example, when the teacher introduced marine organism can take out with real fish to make children real feel or take out water to let the children feel the in of living in the water. So, I think we want children to have a comprehensive development. Technology can assist teaching, but it can not rely too much on information technology. So, we can not ignore the importance of real education. Because make that the whole teaching can be integrated. (1013word)
