Year 7 Slave Trade Choose your homework from the menu below. Your teacher may direct you to a certain task, but you must complete one from each section on the peri-ometer. Write a newspaper article relevant to the topic we are studying. Include specific and accurate facts about the event using Standard English. Take into consideration the layout of an article and the tone used to present such a story to the reader. Research a leading abolitionist and design an information leaflet for a secondary school pupil. Include biographical detail as well as information on other political campaigns they have been a part of. Create 10-15 challenging quiz questions about a poem you have studied in class. Write the question and answers so you can test someone. Make a poster describing one of the slave ships we have studied such as the Brookes or La Amistad. Provide 5 key facts about the ship; layout, cargo and conditions on board. Research the meaning of the keywords in the list and make a dictionary. In the back of your book, provide a list of definitions for the keywords stated above. Keywords: triangular trade, manufactured goods, captives, middle passage, plantations, slave traders, raw materials, abolitionists.
