Performance Appraisals and Compensation
The type of performance method used in this form is a Result-Based System.
The pro’s and con’s to this system are: The pros are that the Supervisor can clearly see
what the employee has accomplished in the Assessment period. In this Assessment form its clear
that the Supervisor must go through this form line by line with the employee to get feedback
what was accomplished throughout the Assessment period. The Supervisor can then determine
whether or not the employee has improved or lacked in some areas. The employee also gets to
show the Supervisor training on different equipment, machines, whether or not the employee took
classes to better oneself in order to be promoted or get a raise in pay.
The cons are that this Assessment only has a place for either Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory
Job Performance. This does not give room for either showing improvements or making that
employee stand out from the rest so that this employee has a better chance of a promotion. Otherwise this employee can get swept under the rug.
What I would change in this Assessment Evaluation is a section where the Supervisor can add all
the accomplishments and top performances this employee has done. Yes, this is a good Appraisal
because as a Server, there’s not much room for moving up. But I would still add my changes to
the Appraisal form.
