The North is also known as the land of the never ending sun. While I was in Svalbard, the sun set around 11pm and came back up around 2am, but never really got dark.
Puffins can be food and funny little birds that look like penguins. It sometimes looks like they don't know how to fly.
Many explorers use Svalbard as a jumping off point to explore the North Pole. It's illegal to leave the city without a gun if you're going to go hiking.
There are many glaciers and fjords. This one is known for having polar bears near by.
When in the arctic it isn't unusual to eat whale or seal when with the native populations. You also might be eating a musk ox burger.
Transportation includes snowmobiles and dog sleds.
You never can let your guard down. Polar bears hunt humans. In recent news another human was attacked by a polar bear by someone who wandered out of the city without a gun. The poor polar bears are killed after they eat human because they now have more of a taste for humans.
The world stores 1/2 million seeds in the seed bank... just in case.
Just like Noah saved the animals, the world is saving seeds for the future of humanity. You never know when a plant may become infected and wiped out. With the seeds in the seed bank they are protected in a climate controlled bank.
On a frosty summer day, you can enjoy a day on the beach. Go for a swim in the arctic ocean. Why not!
Pyramiden was once a town of 1200 Russians mostly miners. Now it's the largest ghost town in the north.

Every year the letters from the children of the world are delivered to the elves of the North. They collect the letters from the humans and give them to Santa Claus or St. Nicolaus.
The man's best friend of the north is the husky.
