My name is Jared Parrish, and I am a senior here at Etowah High School. I have enjoyed my two years here. For as far back as I can remember, I have had a “love” for anything that has to do with computers. Perhaps it is because I am a millennial. My life has always had computers of some sort in it. From very early home computers to sophisticated hand held or even a watch on your wrist computer.
To that end, I decided to prove that there are ways to build and create very powerful computers at a fairly reasonable price. I realize that price is all relative. So what I have set out to prove through my research is that you do not have to spend “thousands” of dollars to own a very good computer. My research has shown that there are many places to buy parts of a computer, not just one put together, waiting in a box for you to pick up. I have also chronicled in my research paper how computers have changed over the years, and have become so advanced in their capabilities which usually means more money.
My product is a high end computer at a low end price. As I mentioned before, my research paper is on the ability to build a computer capable of all the advancements in performance, speed, design, and size, but still be affordable to a more median income. Although I might be making it sound easy, there were still obstacles. There are many places in the internet that sell computer parts at a discount, however making sure you have found the best price and the parts are in working condition can be quite a task.
In today’s world computers are clearly everywhere, I am not sure I could sight an occupation where computers are not used. In all actuality computers are critical in most work places. Lifesaving surgeries are done with the use of computers; billions of dollars are transferred around the world in a second with the use of computers; planes fly; trains move; bridges go up and down. We have all become quite dependent on computers. My goal is to go into law enforcement after high school, to be the IT guy working on computer “evidence”. A behind the scenes guy, that gets all the information off a computer and Phones that people think they have deleted or erased.
The Senior Project for me, definitely had its challenging times. However with help from my teachers and family I accomplished the project. I appreciate all your time, and hope I taught you something you might not have known before I started.
