Colour: Deep peaty-gold. Nose: Complex, oaky, apples and pears, and a tempting dark toffee sweetness. Flavour: Dry and assertive, develops quickly to reveal a rich spiciness, combined with a hint of oak and sherried fruit. Finish: Amazingly smooth for the strength; wonderfully warming and with a lingering smokiness, yet very rounded. Comment: A great whisky holding all the flavours of all the Glenfarclas in one glass. Being so warming, this is the perfect Hogmanay dram. Don’t be afraid of the strength and order a 210, if you dare! The smoothness makes the 105 drinkable at cask strength, but I suggest adding a little water to fully explore its great depth. For its price to performance ratio, the Malt Maniacs named Glenfarclas 105 their ‘Bang for your Buck’ in 2004.
Hapje Eendenborst met sinaasappelsaus
Springbank 10 year old
Our 10-year-old offers whisky drinkers the perfect introduction to the Springbank range. Matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, it is perfectly balanced from the first sip through to the full, rich finish.
Orchard fruit (pear) with a hint of peat, vanilla and malt.
Malt, oak, spice, nutmeg and cinnamon, vanilla essence.
Sweet, with a lingering salty tingle.
Gerookte makreel met dilleolie
Nose: More like Lapsang Souchong tea than Lapsang Souchong! One of the smokiest noses from Islay. It's big, very, very concentrated, and redolent of iodine, sweet spices, good, mature sherry and creamy vanilla. Stunning.
Palate: Very thick and rich. A massive mouthful of malt and sherry with good fruity sweetness, but also a wonderful sweetness. Big, powerful peat and oak.
Finish: Long, spicy finish, figs, dates, peat smoke, vanilla.
Peperkoek met bloedworst
Nose: Some dates then what at first appears to be a touch of salinity, but is better described as a slightly sharp plum and apricot wine note. There's orange zest, toffee, hints of struck match and chocolate raisins, but before this starts to sound 'Sherried' there's also pear drops, a dusting of sweet cinnamon, honeysuckle and sweet pea.
Palate: Fruity, then sweet, more toffee, a touch of anise, then into milk chocolate Flakes, banoffee pie and apple turnovers.
Finish: Creamy toffee to the fore now, a little oak and sweet barley sugar warmth too. Milk chocolate raisins linger.
Overall: Perhaps a little sweet, but it would work well with ice where the sweetness would be slightly suppressed - and before you shudder with disgust, Alan Winchester said that he liked his with a little ice sometimes too. And if it's good enough for the Master Distiller...
Kipfilet met currysaus
Sweet pears, soft vanilla fudge
Juicy pineapple, ripe banana, citrus zest
Kipfilet met chilisaus
Sparkling gold with a slight yellow hue.
An intense aroma that awakens your senses with bursts of citrus fruit, before slowly melting into a soft and sweet, fragrant vanilla.
Light and zesty with a hint of spice, warming up to what can only be described as ‘stick to your teeth’ toffee. A long and lingering finish leaving you ready for the next sip.
Alc vol 46%
Hoorntje met kruidenkaas
Bottled at 43% vol, the BenRiach 10 Years Old is Classic Speyside in character. The cask formula focuses on ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks – exactly the types of wood we favour at BenRiach. This fresh, lively, fruit-laden single malt captures WARM OAK SPICES, GREEN APPLE, DRIED APRICOTS,PEACH and BANANA with subtle touches of ANISEED, LEMON ZESTand BARLEY.
A fresh and lively combination of crisp, green orchard fruits, stem ginger and hints of tangerine mellows to creamy vanilla with a delicate note of mint and a gentle twist of citrus, all held together with a sweet barley back note.
Crisp summer gold.
Warm toasted oak spices flood through green apple skins and dried apricots, ripening to hints of peach and soft banana. Subtle touches of aniseed and lemon zest create a contrasting edge to the fruit and add an intriguing character to the long, crisp barley finish.
Spek met appelroomsaus
Nose: Banana skins.
Palate: Medium, very fruity, chocolate pudding.
Finish: Floral, tannic.
Overall: Add a drop of water and it tastes just like nectarine chunks in low fat yoghurt!
Chocolade dopje met mouse bananenchips
A rich and mature nose with a robust character. It is reminiscent of dried fruit, perhaps figs and raisins, mixed with chocolate and spices (cloves and boiling sweets). There is a hint of leather and linseed oil giving an overall impression of warmth and depth of character.
With water, barley sugar emerges with mint humbugs and a hint of oak smoke. A whiff of peat is now noticeable.
Sweet, full and exceptionally well-rounded, the taste is smooth with a good firm body, meeting the expectations set from the rich, mature nose. The texture is gently oily and mouth-coating with chewy oak tannins. The flavour is initially of toffee, progressing to mint humbugs and barley sugar and followed by a hint of smoke and peat flavours.
Medium to long finish with a flavour and texture reminiscent of barley sugar and humbugs.
Vijgen pate rozijen jelly
Colour – Light golden.
Nose - Heather Honey with hints of cinnamon and toffee bonbon. Very subtle hints of peat smoke.
Palate - Creamy vanilla spice gives way to more overt smoky charcoal notes, especially with the addition of water. Smoke doesn’t dominate and is balanced by the sweet honey and spice flavours.
Finish - Full bodied, silky mouth feel with a dry, tangy and lingering aftertaste, coupled with delicious spice notes.
ABV – 40%

On the nose there are the signature Balblair aromas: floral and fragrant punctuated with citrus fruits, apricots and honey.
On the palate it is full bodied, with notes of oranges, lemon, honey and spice.
The long lasting finish is sweet yet spicy; a superbly well-balanced dram.
Hoorntje met kaas abrikoos en citroen
Craigellachie 13 yo (46%, OB 2014)
Nose: fairly neutral and spirity. Plenty of apple peelings, with some raw yeasty notes and light mineral touches. Soft vanilla marshmallow and honey. Citrus. Hints of overripe banana skins and other vegetal notes in the background. Not bad, just a little youthful. Mouth: oily and sweet, very malty. Apple pie, pineapple and whiffs of charcoal smoke. Shows more oak spices (ginger) and becomes herbal with a light bitterness and a young harsh note. Some spirit sulphur indeed. Finish: medium long, with some drying oak, liquorice and the same hint of smoke.
