INFORMATION ABOUT THE SPEAKER : Cecile Gilmer was born in san Antonio in 1962, When her biological family fell apart after her mother died, Cecile Gilmer found a new family who took care of her more than she could never imagine. She now lives in Logan, Utah where she is an events planner.
The speaker believe that families are not only blood relatives, but also sometimes it can be people that shows up n your life and love you when no one else will, her believes are part of her experiences in life, after losing her mother at her young age and after being kicked from their second house by her stepmother, she thought that she lost everything, until her little angel best friend who used to love her so much that she made her parents accept to “ adopt her “. She wouldn’t ask for a better life after all what happened to her. She have been treated as their own daughter and that’s what showed her that family is not only by blood but it can be by choice too , in her perspective family became the people in your life that wants you in theirs, the ones who accept you for who you are, the ones who could do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what.
I did choose this essay because it’s a very interesting subject, that shows you that you can find the real love and attention from people that you wouldn’t imagine yourself to live with, the ones who stays by your side more than anyone else.
