The meeting was held in Room 220 of the Mechanical Engineering Building at the University of New Mexico. Board Members in Attendance Michael Anselmi, Lucca Henrion, Griffin S. Cearley, Athena Combs-Hurtado, Maya Combs- Hurtado. Report of Proceedings After allowing students to pay local membership dues and collect t-shirts, the second general meeting of UNM ASME was called into session by Co-President Anselmi, who provided a short discussion about polling and the attempt to glean member interests for upcoming events and projects. It was decided that the survey would be sent via email to members once again, to hopefully receive more comprehensive coverage of the member body. Co-President Anselmi proceeded to describe the DAG Grant as an example of future grant opportunities that could potentially be pursued by the chapter. Though the DAG Grant application process is past due for us, this opportunity represents the future of potential finance and diversity opportunities. Next, Co-President Henrion provided a description of the rising Solar Splash project projected for next semester, as well as the United Nations Stovetop project that students may involve themselves with. Dr. Vorobieff then provided a brief outline of how students can further involve themselves with faculty research, as well as utilize faculty connections to seek internships. Members were invited to help promote ASME at HESO’s Noche de Ciencias event, and a sign- up sheet was used to gage the expected volunteer turnout. As few members took the electronic survey that was sent out, it was decided that the survey will be sent to members once again. The board spoke with members regarding their expectations of the board, ideas for future events, and interest in attending conferences and collaborating with other student organizations. This discussion will substitute for polling results for the time being. After all relevant topics had been covered, and after answering a few questions, Co- Presidents Michael Anselmi and Lucca Henrion adjourned the meeting at approximately 4:15.
