This is me and my facilitator Bill Cazier. The way I met him was through my dad, they use to work together. My facilitator now works as a manager at Hi-Caliber gun store an indoor range. He has a college degree from the University of North Georgia.
While writing my research paper I have learned a lot about gun safety and how it can affect many of people lives. My paper connects directly to my PowerPoint because gun safety is important for children an adults to know to stay safe when around them.
Career Link to Product
My career I chose was firearms safety specialists and it relates by teaching people how to do things with weapons a proper way, for example to make sure a weapon is a safe weapon you have to first decock the gun by taking out the magazine, then the next step is to cock this gun because usually there is sometimes a bullet in the chamber, finally you pull the trigger at a target you do not intend on shooting then the gun is referred to as a safe weapon.
This is some of the ammo that the store has it ranges from there’s .22, .44, .9 millimeter, .223, .45 its very important that guns uses the correct ammunition because there has been some instances where the gun has jammed and if you tried to shoot again it could fall apart or explode.
This is the indoor gun range at Hi-caliber its completely sound proof for safety reasons it could cause hearing loss.
Safety Tips I have learned
Here are some safety tips my facilitator has taught me if you're gun fails to fire, handle it will caution because it could possibly go off anytime.
Always wear the correct safety equipment for example ear protection (ear muffs) as well as safety glasses.
Also before shooting any gun make sure the weapon doesn’t have anything in the barrel dirt, any kind of obstruction could affect you’re gun.
What I Learned about me?
The hardest part of my project was figuring out about parts and how they work. It was complicated.
It was easy managing my time because right after school if I didn’t have to work I could go see Bill Cazier at HI-Caliber for a few hours.
This helped my personal skills by learning almost all the safety regulations and a few training tips to stay safe when handling as well as shooting guns.
What will I do Next?
Right after high school I’m applying to college at West Georgia to major in pre law.
My future plans would to be successful in the career I chose(Defense attorney) and have an amazing life
My senior project helped me out with my future because it helped me think about things I wanted to do when I graduate high school.
